Ringling College of Art and Design has established an exciting curriculum with unique courses in the first year for every degree program. In order to meet the needs of this academic vision, the College is seeking candidates that are broadly qualified and passionate about teaching primarily introduction courses in a collaborative environment.

Candidates should have the expertise and ability to teach and incorporate the competencies and instructional skill sets for at least two of the introductory level courses listed below.

• Figure Drawing
Expressive Gestures
Sequential Gestures
Café Drawing
Both nude and clothed figures

• Perspective Drawing
Observational and Theoretical
Knowledge of Photoshop

• Landscape Drawing/Painting
Observational Perspective
Light and Color

• 2D Color and Design
Basic elements and principles of 2D design
Fundamentals of color theory
Knowledge of Photoshop

• 3D Design
Elements and principles of 3D design
Knowledge of modeling figures and characters in clay, building interior fantasized environments (Illustration)
Or knowledge of Maya (Computer Animation)
Or knowledge of perforce, Maya, Photoshop, Substance Painter Unreal, Chrome (Game Art)

• Visual Storytelling is incorporated into all classes.

This is a visiting full-time appointment with benefits for academic year 2020-21. Active participation with faculty and department meetings is required. The teaching responsibility is three courses or nine credits per semester and the service period is the academic year beginning the fall semester of 2020 through spring 2021. The salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. The anticipated start date is August 2020.
